The oven door gasket on your range functions as a seal between the warm interior of your oven, and the outside. It prevents heat from fleeing your oven when the door is closed. Before making any repairs to your oven you should make sure to wear work gloves to protect your hands, and give your oven time to cool. The only tool you will need to make this repair is a pair of needle nose pliers. This oven door gasket comes with built in retaining clips; if any retaining clips from your old gasket are left in the oven make sure to remove them before installing your new gasket.

The seal around the oven door had frayed on the end and come loose.
We carefully pulled the old seal out of the door ( staples hold it in place). Then took the replacement and laid it around the door. Starting at one side we adjusted the seal and pushed the staples into place. Making sure we folded the ends, we used a spoon to push them into the slots. Read more...

The oven door seal was ripped and was leaking.
The oven seal replacement was very straight forward. Two screws held the door to the arms coming from the oven. I slid the door up off the arm and moved it to a workbench. This whole process should take about 15 minutes, a little longer if your unit is older and you want to clean as you go. Mine was fairly dirty and I gave it a cleaning as I removed parts. Unscrew all screws on the outer frame of the door, including two small ones on the side. Remove the outer frame and then the glass front and set them aside. A few more screws to remove the glass from the inner door, and even more on the remaining part of the door. You should also remove the screws holding the tiny brackets as well to release the portion that holds the oven seal in place. This is very straightforward, just keep pulling screws out until you can remove the old seal.

Once the old seal is out, insert the new one using the wire embedded in the seal as your guide...the gap in the seal goes to the bottom. Put everything back together and re-install the door. My door hinges were spring loaded and took a little effort to move them down so the door can be slipped on. This is a two person job since the hinges do not lock in place, they spring right back up flush with the oven and you cannot install the door. Re-install the two set screws holding the door to the hinges and you are done!

With the new seal in place, it felt a little puffy and the door did not seem to close as flush as it used to. This makes sense since the seal is new. I kept the door locked (like you would to use the oven cleaning cycle). I even kept it partially locked during cooking.

Frankly, the hardest part was the cleanup of nasty grease and dirt that built up over the past decade or so.

Best of luck!

the gasket around the oven door was severly scorced and hard. Would no longer seal door.
Easier than painting my toenails!! The gasket came out easily just by pulling with my hands. Replacing it with the new one was even simpler. The clips are already attached to the gasket and easily slip into the holes on the door. I used the end of a tupperware orange peeler to push the unfinished ends of the gasket into a slot at the bottom and that was it! A new, perfect seal and it looks and works great! Read more...

Door gasket broken up
It took considerable time to remove the door and take it completely apart so the gasket could be inserted, and time again to reassemble properly. The gasket (though the no. was confirmed before ordering) was 3" too short so I had to cut some off the old gasket to make do (not entirely effectively). Read more...

My oven door seal was worn and did not seat properly. It leaked heat. The infinite burner was not warming in the low heat positions
I followed two very good videos on how to do the repairs. It took longer to clean all the disassembled parts and the glass than it did to actually do the repair.
A word of caution: Be sure to lock the door hinges in the open position before you lift out the door. They must be locked open to put the door back on. It's difficult to lock them open once the door is removed. Also when you replace the screws get them all aligned in the holes before you lock everything down.
The infinite burner switch was pretty easy to replace but watch out for sheet metal cuts when you are removing the back of the stove. I recommend gloves. My stove has a 12 inch infinite burner, but the parts list only mentions a 10 inch burner. Before I ordered it, I had to call the company to verify that it could be used for the 12 inch burner as well.
